Our 3 days Lake Mburo safari takes you to the 370 sq-km national park famed for its arm’s reach location from the capital Kampala. Uganda’s smallest savanah park is home to 68 mammals with  a high population of zebras. A game drive through the park offers you chance to sight a majority of mammals & birds including zebras, impalas, elands, topis while leopards can be sighted on rare occasions. The park has about 300 bird species and as we enjoy the calm ride on Lake Mburo, we see lots of bird species and several aquatic life including hippos.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Lake Mburo national park

We rise up and have breakfast at the lodge, drive out of Kampala via Masaka road and have our first stop at Kayabwe for the equator experience where we straddle at the landmark. Proceed and enjoy a scenic drive through the plains leading us to Mbarara and Lake Mburo national park. On arrival, we check in at the lodge, go for lunch and relax. Later on, in the evening, we head out for a guided nature walk through the woodlands where we watch several birds and spot some mammals. We proceed and hike to the hill where we enjoy stunning views of different lakes in the region. Return to the lodge for dinner and the overnight stay

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Wake up early morning and hit the tracks for a game drive after breakfast. The exploration through different tracks offers an opportunity to see the wonderful wildlife of the park such as the giraffes, impalas, zebras, topis, buffaloes and waterbucks among others. On a lucky day, we can spot a leopard or hyena. A boat cruise in the afternoon on Lake Mburo is a great opportunity to encounter water animals like the mighty Nile  crocodiles, hippos as well birds Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 3: Horseback riding and return to Kampala

After an ealry morning  breakfast, get prepared for an exciting horseback riding adventure in the park. Riding a horse is a truly unique experience that offers you chance to get closer to the wildlife and nature as well. Feel the wind blow as you ride your horse through Lake Mburo tracks. Return to the lodge for lunch ,  check out and prepare for a road trip back to Kampala.
