The 3 days Uganda gorilla safari is an exciting wildlife adventure that takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable forest, one of the most ancient rain forests in Africa home to over half the population of remaining mountain gorillas in the world. Depending on your dates of travel, it is possible to delight in a fascinating gorilla trekking experience in either Rushaga, Ruhija, Nkuringo or Buhoma sector. You will need to be physically fit as tracking down gorillas can last for more than 4 hours.

Day1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park  

After an early break, our company representative picks you up from your hotel of residence for a transfer to Bwindi Forests national park. The journey takes you through Masaka-Mbarara highway with your first stopover at the Equator. Here feel free to stretch take photos, buy some refreshments and proceed to Mbarara. Take another stopover at Mbarara for lunch and a visit at Igongo cultural center that gives you chance to explore the interesting Ankole museum. At this cultural site learn more about the Bahima as well as ankole cultures in Uganda.

Proceed to Bwindi national park arriving in the evening, check in at your booked lodge/ camp site for dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation option: Trekkers Tavern -Budget, Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge- Mid- Range, Mahogany springs lodge- Luxury.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Begins

Today wake up early for your breakfast, later join your driver guide for a transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about the trekking exercise. Here you are taught about the dos and don’ts while trekking. It is paramount to note that the trekking exercise can last between 30minutes to 7 hours and this depends of the location of the gorilla family on that day.

Once you locate a gorilla family, you will be allowed to spend only one hour with the family as you observe their behaviors and take photos with them. After the trekking adventure you are given a certificate of participation and your guide transfers you back to the lodge.

If time allows after the gorilla trekking experience, feel free to enjoy an optional visit to the Batwa community for a cultural encounter with the Pygmies- Shortest people in World.

Day3: Return to Kampala 

After your leisure breakfast, set off with your driver guide returning back to Kampala or Entebbe. Arriving in the late evening, your driver guide drops you at your hotel of residence in Kampala or to your next safari destination.
